Hey Queen! I know you probably don't want to hear this, but Summer is just around the corner. It's less than 12 weeks away to be exact. If you're like me, you want to be thottin and boppin, living in bikinis and booty shorts this summer; especially since we never had a true summer last year. Well, April's Best You Challenge is just what you need to kick start into gear that best version of you by the time Summer hits on June 20th. 30 minutes of HIIT for your Summer Body 2021!

I'm going to preface this by saying that I've been working on eating clean since the new year started. I'm also a year and a half into my fitness journey. What may work for me, may not work for you. So, it is important that you consult your doctor or a trained physical fitness expert before embarking on this challenge.

HIIT training stands for high intensity interval training. In laymen's terms, it's when you do short burst of high intensity workouts, mostly using your own body weight, back to back with short rest breaks in between. These workouts are great because you don't need to have a gym membership to do them. Also, very little to no equipment is needed for these workouts. All you need is yourself, a bottle of water, and the vision of yourself in your Summer ready body knocking em' dead.

For the month of April, I challenge you, again after you receive the okay from trained professionals, to join me in twenty-one days of HIIT training, drinking water, and eating clean. Starting on April 10th, the goal is for you to set aside forty-five minutes every single day to complete the following workout.

Each exercise should be performed for three minutes straight. With a 1 minute break in between. This is not a race. You are only competing with yourself. You do not need to pump through reps for this challenge. You are only trying to keep your heart rate elevated for three minutes at a time. Go at your own pace.

Click on each exercise to be transferred to a YouTube video on how to properly do each exercise.

Exercise 8: Jump Rope (full body) or Jumping Jacks (full body)

Exercise 9: Donkey Kicks (glutes)

Exercise 10: Fire Hydrants ( glutes)

Complete each of these exercises for three minutes a piece one time every day during the challenge. I also challenge you to cut out all drinks except for water. You are allowed 1 cup of coffee in the morning. But any other beverages that you drink throughout the rest of your day, must be water.

To eat clean, I am only asking that you do not eat any fast food, restaurant food, or ready-made food. Anything you eat, must be made yourself. No added sugar and no added salt.

Does this sound like a challenge you are ready to take on? Even if you don't get permission for the HIIT workouts, drinking water and eating clean will definitely help you reach the best version of yourself.

Again, I must reiterate, do not complete any of the exercises in this post unless you receive a professional's okay.

Since there are only 30 days in April, this challenge will begin on April 10th and run through the end of the month. On April 10th, I will post the challenge's cover photo on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Tik Tok. To join the challenge, comment "I'm In" on that post through your preferred social media app. Then make sure you check in weekly for accountability and the chance to win free giveaways!

So Queens, are you ready to "Werk It Out" with me?

It's a beautiful day to conquer the world. So, WERK into the Queen you're meant to be and Slay!
