SOAKING THE BLUES AWAY

Let's get real Queens! I had a rough weekend full of unnecessary drama. That drama led me to second guessing myself and looking at myself as if I was the problem. Long story short, I was not the problem. However, I was still left feeling some kind of way.

I for-saw these feelings escalating and did my best to derail the train. I asked two mentors for advice and they both fed into me and helped cheer me up; a lot. However, no matter how hard I worked, I just couldn't stop depression from swerving over, parking outside my house and inviting herself into my home.

Depression stayed over night with me on Sunday and followed me around, every where I went, on Monday. I tried fighting her with a quick meditation, but as the day went on, she just got more and more persistent. By the end of the work day, I realized I had barely eaten and, if I didn't do something quick, I was in for a long and annoying visit.

WORLD STOP

Let's step aside for a second. I need you all to understand and I need to celebrate the fact that I was able to recognize these signs within myself, before letting it get too far. Woohoo Yay me!

CARRY ON

As, I was on my way home yesterday, I decided to stop fighting my feelings and let myself feel the way I was feeling. I gave myself the time frame of the rest of the night to feel what I needed to feel and come the next day, I was going to nip it in the bud.

So, I had some #StouffersLasagna with cake for dessert. I sat on my couch and watched #BobsBurgers and just let my feelings fester. I knocked out around 9pm and woke up at 3am.

When I woke up, it was on and popping. I cleaned my room, put away my laundry, and I cleaned my bathroom too. I tidied up the living room. As I was washing a few dishes, I decided I was going to spend the rest of my morning taking a nice bubble bath and soaking away all the stress and sadness.

Queens! When I tell you I am feeling empowered and back to my normal self! It's like that bath literally melted all of the stress away! Which is why, I'd like to share with you what I did in hopes that it'd be a great starting point for you. We're all different. Just as different things may trigger us, different things will make us feel better. However, I think it's always good to take someone's advice as a good starting point and adjust to your liking.

So, Queens, let me give you the recipe!

The first thing I did, after cleaning my home was set the mood. I lit several candles in my bedroom and bathroom. I started up my diffuser with some lavender and peppermint oil and I lit a stick of lavender incense. I bought my diffuser, from Walmart for $12 and my incense and incense holder from Dollartree. My candles are from all over the place. However, if you don't have a huge budget, Dollartree has a great selection to get you going.

The next thing I did was sage both my bedroom and my bathroom. I won't talk too much about smudging just yet, as I'm still learning. However, this was my second time smudging myself and my bedroom and I must say, each time I've felt a huge difference. I will tell you the basics. Lighting sage and wafting the smoke around your living area helps clean the air while also cleansing your aura. You can purchase sage from your local botanical shop. Mine was given to me by a friend who purchased it from Ghana.

After I smudged my home, I got my ingredients together for my bath. I used Florida water ( $9 at Walmart),coarse

sea salt ($4 at Walmart), Dr. Teals epsom salt & bubble bath in the Rose and Serenity flavor, Hallu bath bombs ( Walmart $5 each), Onyx bath flower petals (Walmart $4 each), Onyx Champagne bubble bath and I heated up some milk

with pure organic raw honey. After gathering all of my ingredients, I started filling up the tub and pouring everything in.

Once my bath was drawn and all of my ingredients were in the water, I got in the bath and soaked for 45 minutes. While I soaked, I listened to my favorite meditation from Power Thoughts Meditation Club on Youtube.

When my meditation was complete, I cleaned up and stepped out of my bath feeling refreshed, renewed, and reinvigorated.

This feeling has last me throughout the day, Queens. I hit my workout, harder today than I have in a while. I was focused and productive at work. I feel amazing. It's like whatever stress or worries I had before that bath, went down the drain with the water, when I took the plug out.

So, the next time you feel like Depression is getting ready to make an unannounced visit to your house, try out this method and see if it works for you.

It's going to be a great day to conquer the world. So, breathe, meditate, and then step into the Queen you're meant to be and SLAY!
